Nissan Pathfinder Interior Spy Photos

The infotainment system looks much more modern.

A new generation of Nissan Pathfinder is on the way. This batch of spy shots is our first chance to see its development in months. The engineers strip off some camouflage, and there are photos of the interior this time.

Compared to the earlier images, the grille of this Pathfinder is a little more visible. The outward flared vertical portions suggest Nissan’s V-shaped grille is sticking around. The lower fascia is also on display, and it shows a simple, horizontal design. At

Designs For Dignity Celebrates 20 Years

For 20 years, Designs for Dignity has harnessed the power of design to create pro bono spaces for nonprofits across the country. Ahead of its anniversary, we catch up with CEO Jennifer Sobecki as she rings in two decades of community enrichment.

Apna Ghar

Where did the idea for Designs for Dignity come from?
Designs for Dignity was founded by interior designer Susan Fredman in 2000. She assisted a local nonprofit organization with pro bono design services and realized the need is tremendous. We can meet that need through a permanent recycling program for the design industry—designers give back their time and talent, manufacturers and vendors provide materials and nonprofits apply for grants for D4D’s services annually. It’s a win-win from a sustainability perspective, and lives are transformed for the greater good.

What nonprofits have you designed spaces for?
We’ve designed spaces for myriad organizations over the past two decades

Fall home decor trends: Comforting hues, flexible design

In recent years, brown anything in a living space was considered by some arbiters of decor as drab and outdated. But this fall the hue is back in favor, in part because of the unsettled, anxious state of the world.

“Brown traditionally makes people feel comfortable and safe, and those are feelings that many of us are looking to our homes to provide,” says interior designer Dawn Hamilton of Oakland Park, Florida.

It’s just one of the trends in decor this season, when the pandemic has made home an even more essential space for living, working, studying and more. Also on the watch list: flexible rooms, indoor and out.

Hamilton says today’s brown palette is being used in new ways, as a neutral in all kinds of materials, and as an accent color.

“Brown feels very earthy and rich. It’s warm and inviting, and has the same grounding

Whether it’s a blank canvas or a fixer-upper, there are elements and principles of interior design that help every finished project achieve a cohesive harmony.

Interior Designer Lynn Myers believes so much in striking the right balance among these that she named her business, Harmony Interiors in Frisco, after it.

“To design a space that enhances human lives, you need to focus on a range of details including color, personality, culture, furniture placement and scale which will help transform a person’s personal environment, creating harmony, balance and a natural flow of energy through the space,” she said.

Myers launched Harmony Interiors in Frisco in 2005, and has since discovered that she’s particularly passionate about remodel projects. She loves looking at before-and-after photos that illustrate how creativity and

MultiBrief: Have Zoom, will design

Interior designers are on the move — literally and virtually. Concerns about health and safety, including the need for social distancing and limited in-person contact whether with colleagues or clients, have uprooted many designers from their offices.

In the months since COVID-19 caused large portions of the populace to shelter in place, designers have adapted to working remotely, and more of them have embraced e-design and virtual design service models.

Providing interior design services via the internet is not new. The number of e-design sites has been growing steadily for more than a decade. For the most part, though, these sites marketed themselves to individuals who cannot afford standard interior design fees by offering low-cost consultations and fixed-price packages containing color schemes, floor plans and general design advice.

What’s changed as a result of the pandemic is that firms that previously eschewed virtual design or considered it a niche service
